Nestled along a scenic shoreline just southeast of Pierre, this park offers a wide variety of camping and recreational opportunities in a peaceful, natural setting.
There’s something for everyone — from fishing and boating to hiking, biking, and picnicking. The calm waters of Lake Sharpe provide excellent walleye and smallmouth bass fishing, along with a protected and convenient boat launch for easy water access. Nature lovers enjoy paddleboarding, canoeing, and wildlife viewing throughout the seasons.
Beyond the water, the area is rich with wildlife. Visitors may spot native birds, deer, wild turkeys, turtles, and other critters that call this lightly forested lakeshore home. Open: Year-round. Between Oct. 1 and April 30, showers, flush toilets and other water systems may be closed. Please contact the park directly for current status. Vault toilets usually remain open.
