61st Annual Buffalo Roundup Sees Gorgeous Weekend, Arts Festival Sets New Attendance Record
September 30, 2026 PIERRE, S.D. – Visitors to the 61st Annual Buffalo Roundup and Arts Festival enjoyed a gorgeous weekend in theThe park had 20,755 visitors attend the 61st annual Governor's Buffalo Roundup, and 19,675 visitors at the Arts Festival. The previous record for the Arts Festival was 19,225.
"We are extremely proud of what the Arts Festival has grown into," said Lydia Austin, Custer State Park Visitor Services Supervisor. "Each year we continue to see more vendors and more visitors, and it's really been special to watch it grow."
Live music performances, demonstrations, and interactive activities were added to the festival's dynamic atmosphere, while food and beverage vendors offered a taste of local flavors. The festival's unique blend of natural splendor and creative expression made it an unforgettable experience during the annual Buffalo Roundup.
"Visitors are coming to experience the Buffalo Roundup Friday morning, and they're staying throughout the weekend to enjoy the Arts Festival and everything the park has to offer," concluded Austin. "It's grown into the perfect fall weekend in the Black Hills, and we're very proud of that."
