GFP Seeking Additional Public Input on Spring Creek Country Club Use

December 20, 2021

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) Department is seeking additional public input on the future development and use of the Spring Creek Country Club near Canton (Harrisburg).

GFP held two open house meetings on Dec. 7, shared a brief presentation about development concepts, and collected public input on how the property might be managed and developed for recreational use.

GFP is looking for more public input from those people unable to attend these meetings. To view potential recreational development concepts and to provide comment on how those concepts can be enhanced or changed, visit: https://arcg.is/008qy

Downloadable versions of the concepts can be found on the Good Earth State Park page on the GFP website.

“GFP will acquire the golf course from the South Dakota Parks and Wildlife Foundation in January of 2025, and we want to efficiently utilize the property for recreational use. We want as many interested park users and stakeholders to share their thoughts and ideas,” said Deputy Parks Director, Al Nedved.

Nedved also stated that GFP will continue to meet with stakeholders to share development concepts and solicit feedback from those stakeholders on how the property would be best managed and developed for public recreational use.

The survey link will remain open for public comment through February 6, 2022.
