Snapshot South Dakota
Snapshot South Dakota is a department-sponsored photography contest that is focused on capturing the beauty of our outdoor resources in South Dakota.
2024 CATEGORIES
- Wildlife
- Landscapes
- Fishing
Judging will consist of one “Best in Category” for each category and one overall “People’s Choice,” resulting in four winners.
RULES
- Photographers are eligible to enter up to 3 photos.
- Photos deemed inappropriate will not be eligible for People's Choice voting.
- Deadline to submit photos for the summer period will be July 17. Voting for People's Choice will begin in early August.
PEOPLE'S CHOICE
All eligible submitted photos will be added into a photo album on the official GFP Facebook page. Photographers are encouraged to direct their friends, family' and fans to the album to “like” their photo(s). The photo with the most “likes” will be awarded People’s Choice. The People’s Choice photo and photographer will be removed from the remaining categories moving forward.
WINNING PHOTOS
Winning photographers and photos will be showcased with appropriate credits in the South Dakota Conservation Digest, GFP social media platforms, and other GFP publications. Winning photos may also be selected for the cover of the South Dakota Hunting Handbook, Fishing Handbook, Boating Handbook, and Park Handbook.
