NEW VISITOR CENTER
- Expanded displays to include more diverse history
- Updated exhibits to enhance the visitor's experience
- Modern classrooms
- Modern workspace
- Artifact collections protection with modern climate control
- Adequate parking for events, including bus parking for tours
RESTORATION OF BUILDINGS
- Completed restoration in the Commanding Officer's Quarters and Doctor's Residence including:
- Inside work on walls, ceilings, and floors
- Artifact restoration and preservation
- Outside work such as tuckpointing, roof work, trim work, and landscaping
- Focus on restoring remaining buildings to certain time period that fits the exhibits and restoration of the building
- Return North Barracks to original 1860s barracks
ENHANCE OUTDOOR EXPERIENCES
- Installation of event stafe and campground expansion
- Development of a playground
- Expansion of the hiking trails
KEEPING HISTORY ALIVE
- Events and classes for families, kids, and adults
- Classes and workshops that not only take place at the fort, but also in other towns
- Renovations allow for reenactors to give visitors the full experience of stepping back in time
