Yes you can. 

Take a photo of the paper copy and save it, or better yet, download the GFP mobile app, log into the licensing system and show or view your license that way. The bar code seen on your license allows South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) conservation officers to electronically scan the license on smartphone devices while in the field in lieu of a paper copy.

If you choose to print and carry a paper copy of your small game, fishing or trapping license, that is still fine.

NOTE: This does not apply to federal waterfowl stamps, tags and licenses mailed to you from the department's licensing office. Stamps, tags and licenses must be carried with you while you are hunting and all tagging requirements apply.
