Conservation Partners

In addition to cooperating landowners, SD GFP participates with other conservation partners to complete habitat projects on private land at varying levels of involvement.

Although not an exclusive list, many of these partners include the following:

In addition, SD GFP is an active member of numerous "umbrella groups", such as the Prairie Pothole and Northern Great Plains Joint Ventures, Northern Great Plains Working Group, SD Conservation Alliance, SD Water Quality Council, Prairie Coteau Habitat Partnership, Association of Midwest Fish & Wildlife Agencies and the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies.

Although each conservation partner has its own mission, all recognize the importance of maintaining and creating wildlife habitat on private lands, while at the same time, meeting the management objectives of the landowners. It is imperative that SD GFP continue and seek new opportunities with our conservation partners to meet both the challenges and opportunities of working hand-in-hand with the landowners of South Dakota.
