Nature Day Camps
For kids ages 7-12 with an interest in the outdoors.
- Time: 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
- Wednesday, June 17: Kids' Fishing Derby
- Wednesday, July 15: Nature Explorers
During the summer, kids can enjoy a series of nature day camps designed for educational fun.
These camps are offered once each month during the summer season and consist of several programs and hands-on activities. Their purpose is to enhance the learning opportunities for younger park visitors.
Each camp is different, giving participants a chance to look for bugs or take a guided hike on a nature trail. In every case, the focus of the event is to open the eyes of the participants to an exciting and unique natural world.

Kids' Fishing DAy
Participants will learn how to tie a fishing knot, take part in a casting contest, learn some tricks for cleaning the catch, make fish prints to take home, and of course GO FISHING! Wear clothes that can get wet and bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a snack.

Does catching insects, discovering tracks, smelling flowers, identifying animal droppings, looking at birds through binoculars, and just being outside sound fun to you? If so, come to Rocky Point Recreation Area and spend the morning being a naturalist and exploring nature! Wear water shoes; bring a water bottle, sunscreen and a snack.
