Roy Lake State Park
Roy Lake is known for its excellent fishing, but you don't have to be an angler to enjoy all this park has to offer. Visitors will find sandy beaches, campgrounds, picnic areas, boat ramps, boat rentals, and an island trail to keep them busy.
Roy Lake State Park offers multiple types of accommodations based on your lodging or camping needs. Consider staying in one of the modern lodging options. Click here to learn more!
The earliest known inhabitants of Roy Lake were members of the Woodland Culture, who built large burial mounds. Artifacts dating between 900 and 1300 A.D. have been found near the park. The Roy (or Roi) family is credited with building the area's first white settlement. Local American Indians called the crops planted along the lakeshore the "Roy Planting" and the name persisted.
