"No Wake Zone" Declared for Mina Lake
July 6, 2022PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) have declared a "No-Wake Zone" for Mina Lake in Edmunds County.
"The Mina Lake Watershed has seen some significant rain events over the last few days so the lake has risen high enough for the automatic 'No-Wake Zone' to be enacted," said Aquatic Habitat and Access Biologist, Rhet Russell. "At noon today water levels were approximately 22" over the level of the top of the spillway."
The water levels of Mina Lake are a "No-Wake Zone" during any time at which the water level reaches the height of 18 inches or more over the level of the top of spillway.
"Everything with the dam and spillway are functioning as they should," assured Russell.
The "No-Wake Zone" will be in place until water levels drop below the 18" mark on the spillway.View All News
