Arts in the Park
Dakota Prairies 4-H Club will be running this make and take craft station. Stop by the South Barracks either Saturday or Sunday from 12-2 p.m..
Lakota Buffalo, Pioneer Items and Toys, and Civil War Soldier
On Saturday (see schedule for times and locations), the Siouxland Heritage Museum Staff will bring their "discovery packs" to the Fort. This hands-on discovery programming is geared towards kids 7-13 and their parents.
ACWA Kids Cook-off
Calling all Kids! Sunday from 12-2 team up with a Chuck- Wagon and bake a delicious pie. Your pie will be judged at 2 p.m. and prizes awarded. The cook-off is sponsored by the American Chuck Wagon Association. Space is limited, so go to the Living History Area between 10 a.m.-12 p.m. to sign-up.
Living History Area
Walk through this Pioneer Camp and try your hand at some whip cracking. Experience life as a pioneer kid would have in the late 1800s.
Blacksmith and Carpenter Shops
The blacksmith and carpenter will be demonstrating their trade on Saturday and Sunday. Stop by their shops and lend a hand in turning your own rope.
The following presentations may be especially enjoyed by families: Nurturing the Tree/Hoop of Life, Flag Raising or Lowering Ceremonies, Old Time Photography, Chuck Wagons, Tractor Pull, and Ranch Rodeo.
