Go Forth

The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks is partnering with the South Dakota Department of Health to put on the Go Forth program. Go Forth aims to get fourth graders and their families outside and active this summer with the overall aim of improving the health of South Dakota youth and families.  Students from public, private and tribal schools are eligible and will receive their passes through school.  Parents of homeschool fourth grade students can request a pass through the state park administrative office at parkinfo@state.sd.us

In March early April we are giving a certificate to each 4th grader, in the state, for their choice of three state park discounts. The students will also receive a coupon for a free 1 hour equipment rental.

  1. A free day pass
  2. Half off an annual park license
  3. A free 3-year subscription to the Conservation Digest
The pass will get one vehicle into a state park or recreation area for one day, student must be present. The free family day pass and rental coupon is redeemable until December 31, 2020.
The goal of the project is to encourage kids and families to create healthy habits, try new activities, and enjoy nature. Although the license can be used any day, participants will be encouraged to utilize them to attend in-park events, such as Becoming an Outdoor Family, and other educational and informative programs.
