Little Naturalist Programs

These programs are for children ages 2 to 4 years old and their parents or guardians. Toddlers will learn about each theme through games, crafts, stories and songs. Free fun for the little ones.

Nature Craft Monday

Join us at the visitor center for some fun nature crafts! We will be making a pine cone bird feeder, an owl mask, and a fun, feathery bird clip! This nature craft is open to children of all ages.

Nature walk

Explore the trails while looking for birds, animals and their tracks, and amazing plants. This walk will last approximately two hours and is open to all ages of the public. Meet us at the visitor center to begin to fun!

live animals and furs

Come meet our animal friends! You will get the opportunity to learn about turtles, snakes and lizards as well as see animal furs. What adaptations do animals use? How do they stay hidden from predators? Meet at the visitor center.

Late night nature hike

What animals can be seen at night? What happens when the sun goes down? What animals come out at night? Join us for a late night nature hike! This hike will last approximately two hours. Begins at the visitor center.

On August 14, 1997, Adams Homestead & Nature Preserve officially opened as a state park. We mark this very special occasion by having an annual festival on or around this day. This year we will be celebrating 20 years!

Those interested in participating in the homemade pie judging contest need to bring their pies to Adams Homestead by 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August  12.  The pie judging will start at 11:30 a.m.  Pies will be judged by their appearance, texture and taste.
